I see devotion when I look at you

Find me grateful Find me thankful Find me on my knees Find me dreaming Find me singing Find me lost in Your grace Find Me written by Jonathan David Helser

The lyrics from this song speak so deeply to my heart. Several years ago I was visiting my husband on his annual fishing trip and had the cabin all to myself. I had been on a 32 day journey of seeking God in His word in a deeper way. This particular day I was reading from the Passion translation of the Song of Songs.

I opened chapter four and began to read: (The Bridegroom-King speaking) Listen, my dearest darling, you are so beautiful- you are beauty itself to me! Your eyes glisten with love, like gentle doves behind your veil. What devotion I see each time I gaze upon you. You are like a sacrifice ready to be offered. The line “what devotion I see each time I gaze upon you” hit me square in the heart. With tears burning my eyes I asked, “God is that what you see when you look at me?”. I was asking the question in a two fold way. 1. Is my heart solely set on you? Am I completely sold out? Am I fierce in my pursuit of you? 2. What do you see when you look at me?

God is so in love with you. I think it’s hard to even begin to understand the depths of his love for us. The bible tells us that nothing can separate us from the love of God. (Rom 8:38) There is nothing we can do to make him love us. He IS love. And his love is perfect, without condition. Period.

Allow God to gently walk you into the role of his perfect bride. Grant him access to the deep places in your heart. Back to the lyrics I mentioned; Find me grateful Find me thankful Find me on my knees Find me dreaming Find me singing Find me lost in Your grace

Posture your heart to be humble, seeking him, loving him above all else, pouring life and grace into others. Let him see the eyes of your spirit glistening with love as you gaze upon the one your soul desires.

Romans 8:38 AMP

For I am convinced [and continue to be convinced—beyond any doubt] that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present and threatening, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the [unlimited] love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (The pictures in this post are of my son's wedding day. The devotion and love you see in their eyes is the look God has when he looks at you. Won't you return that look to him today?) #devotion #Godslove #marriage #love #intimacy #intimacywithGod
